Awards & recognition
2026 Young Volunteer Award · India House Houston
India House Houston honored our three co-founders and presidents—Manav, Manasi, and Manya Rungta—with Young Volunteer Awards for their dedication to education and community service.
The recognition celebrates 10 years of teaching Technology Class, 5 years of English Class, and their ongoing volunteer support for India House events, planning, and community initiatives.
We are grateful to India House and the community we serve. This honor strengthens our commitment to keep showing up, sharing knowledge, and helping others smile.
01“The volunteer work of educating seniors and others by Manav, Manasi and Manya is commendable. It is very rare that we find an entire family, especially the kids, serving the community with dedication.”
Pushpa Desai
02“Before the class, I did not know how to make a phone call or send a message, but these kids taught me how to do it. Even my children do not teach me patiently like this.”
Mike Chapman
03“You are doing such a noble cause by teaching us seniors to use technology with patience. I have also learned how to transfer pictures from Google Photos to USB.”
Bhanumati Shah
04“Teaching technology to seniors is a challenge, and teaching it online is an even greater challenge. You do it with lots of happiness and patience.”
Paru McGuire
