App Privacy Policy
Effective September 25, 2026 · Applies to the Smile Tech Library mobile app.
Your learning stays on your device
No account is required. Saved lessons, completion marks, recently opened lessons, search terms, downloaded manuals, and the cached library catalog are stored locally. The app does not upload your saved lessons, completion marks, search terms, or local reading history to the foundation. Removing the app removes its local data, subject to your device’s backup settings.
Library updates and technical information
The app contacts the foundation’s website to check for new lessons when opened, when you return to it, when the connection returns, and when you refresh. Opening a new PDF also requests its file from the website. The website imports public educational content from the foundation’s Google Drive folder and YouTube playlists.
These requests provide normal connection information to our hosting providers, including IP address, browser or device information, requested address, time, response status, and approximate country derived from the connection. Hosting logs may retain this information to deliver content, diagnose problems, maintain reliability, and protect the service. A requested PDF address can reveal which manual was requested. Such logs may associate requests with the same network address; the app does not send an account identifier or advertising identifier.
We use Sites hosting and its Cloudflare infrastructure to operate these services. Technical logs follow the hosting providers’ retention and security practices. We do not use the app’s technical information for advertising or cross-app tracking, sell it, or combine it with advertising profiles.
External services you choose to open
Video lessons open YouTube, class links open Zoom, and the Google Drive link opens a manual on Drive. These services may receive connection information and apply their own privacy policies, including when you are signed in to them. The app does not receive your account credentials from these services.

Permissions and choices
The app does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or device location. It has no advertising or analytics SDK. You can use included guides and previously downloaded manuals without an internet connection. New library content, new PDF downloads, videos, and classes require internet access. You can remove bookmarks and completion marks in the app and remove local app data by deleting the app.
Children and support
The app does not ask children or other learners to provide personal profiles. If you contact the foundation by email, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond. Please do not send sensitive personal information with a support request.
